BEFORE YOU PAY · 7 CARDS1/8

Ultherapy is still the name people fly to Korea for.

Six questions to ask before you pay — none of them are about price.

WHAT YOU’RE BUYING2/8

You’re not buying a machine. You’re buying lines.

HIFU works by placing tiny thermal coagulation points under the skin. The count is the treatment — and in Korea a face is commonly quoted anywhere from 300 to 1,200 lines.

QUESTION 13/8

“Can I see the cartridge before it’s opened?”

Cartridges are single-use by design and carry a limited shot count. Refilled or refurbished ones deliver unpredictable energy — that’s a weak result or a skin injury, not a bargain.

QUESTION 24/8

“Can we verify the device together?”

Genuine systems and transducers can be checked on the spot — an NFC tag on the machine, a QR code on the sealed box. A clinic with nothing to hide will do it with you.

QUESTIONS 3 & 45/8

“How many lines, and who is holding the handpiece?”

Get the line count in writing before you pay. And ask who performs it — the doctor you consulted, or someone else.

QUESTION 56/8

“Is lifting even my problem?”

HIFU tightens. It does not refill. If what you see in the mirror is lost volume rather than laxity, more lifting is the wrong answer — and the most expensive way to learn it.

QUESTION 67/8

“What happens if it doesn’t work?”

Ask about the follow-up window, the reassessment, the plan B. The answer tells you whether you’re buying a session or a relationship.
