RECOVERY · 7 CARDS1/8

Your laser worked. The next 5 days decide how well.

Most people prepare for the appointment and improvise the recovery. That’s backwards — this is where results are won or quietly lost.

FIRST 48 HOURS2/8

Cool it. Don’t ice it.

A cool compress for about 15 minutes, every one to two hours, through the first 24–48 hours. Sleep with an extra pillow — elevation is what brings the swelling down.

THE BARRIER3/8

Keep it sealed, not dry.

Gentle cleansing several times a day, then a thick occlusive layer while the skin heals. The goal is simple: don’t let scabs form. Scabs mean slower healing and more scar risk.

ACTIVES4/8

Everything strong stays in the drawer.

Retinoids, acids, scrubs, cleansing brushes — all of them wait. Your barrier is rebuilding. Plain cleanser and plain moisturizer are doing the real work right now.

SUN5/8

New skin burns faster than old skin.

Freshly resurfaced skin pigments easily. Shade first, SPF once your clinic clears it — and keep it up for weeks, not days. This is where results are most often lost.

HEALING6/8

Flaking is the process. Picking is the damage.

Dryness and fine peeling mean it’s working. Pulling any of it off early is how you turn a good result into a mark that outlasts it.

FOR TRAVELERS7/8

Flying home? Build in the buffer.

Cabin air is dry and long-haul days are long. Leave a few days between your last session and your flight, keep the balm in your carry-on, and skip the beach on the way out.
